Interior design surrounds us, turns space into a atmosphere and embodies the desire for individualisation.
In conversations with young architects and designers, I notice that the concept of aesthetics and thus also the concept of a clear design language is receding into the background and that ecological, social and inclusive approaches are dominating.
In contrast to this observation, “Domain Noir” shows excerpts from design and architecture magazines from the 60s and 70s. A period characterised by a certain future optimism, with the vision of modernising the world. At the same time, however, the magazines of this period are also showing a very clear draft of role models and a restricted idea of the world.
